Valencia Cantrell

We are proud to have Valencia Renee Cantrell join our cheer family as the Head Cheer Coach for Zora Ellis Junior High, and Head Competition Coach for THS assisted by Coach Veazey Valencia teaches SPE at Zora Ellis Junior High.

Valencia was born in Fulton County, Georgia but was raised in Heflin, AL. She attended Cleburne County High School where she cheered 6 years.

She received her bachelors degree from Jacksonville State University in Health Education, and her masters degree in SPE-Collaborative studies. She was a part of both the JSU all girl and co-ed cheer teams from 2004-2008. She pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated while at JSU. She was a Go Leader, A Go Go dancer, JSU Ambassador, Spirit Coordinator, and the host of The Gamecock Huddle. She was the first African American female to win Homecoming Queen in 2007.

She became a Health teacher at Cleburne County High School and started coaching in 2009. She has been involved with cheerleading for over 20 plus years. She was the coach of the first ever cheer team to bring home a State Cheerleading Title at CCHS, and to become nationally ranked. Valencia started competing nationally with her cheer squads in 2015 and just returned from Nationals and Walt Disney World this past weekend.

She is the owner of CC Athletics Cheer Gym and Tumbling in Heflin, AL. She also remains a volunteer for Cleburne County Competition team. She has the following credentials as well: Tumbling Instructor, Independent Stunt Camp Instructor, Competition Judge, Spirit Event Tryout Judge, Independent Tryout Judge, Competition Routine Choreographer, General Dance Choreographer, and Alabama High School Athletic Association Certified Coach.

She currently resides in Anniston, AL with her lovely 3 year old daughter Sanaa Lynn.your text here...
