Welcome to Ellis!
Dear Parents and Students,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Ellis Junior High School for the 2017-2018 school year. The teachers, staff, and administrators realize each child is unique and special. We also realize and welcome our responsibility to ensure each student reaches maximum potential: academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. We encourage students to make realistic, self-directed, and responsible decisions to prepare for the future. We are committed to providing academic and life-learning experiences for your child.
We look forward to working with you to provide the best education possible for our students. Parents we encourage you to become actively involved in your child's education-- join our PTO, visit the school and attend board meetings as well as junior high and high school athletic events, visit Ellis on Facebook, and INOW to monitor your child’s grades. The more parents are positively involved and actively seen by their children at school, the more they will come to value their education.
The student handbook is designed to provide students and parents with important information about Ellis Junior High School. It contains information about the student code of conduct, discipline policies, dress code, calendar of events, and other information about policies and procedures. Every parent should take the time to sit down and read the handbook with their child to know what is expected at Ellis Junior High. After you have done this, please sign and return the “Certification Page” at the back of the handbook to your child's homeroom teacher by August 20th 2017.
Thank you for your confidence in us to prepare your child to be college and career ready. We appreciate your support for Zora Ellis Junior High School. We look forward to a very positive and productive school year. Together, we will make a difference in the life of your child.
Shari Dye, Principal
